Description RBHP-100
Buffer tanks for heat pumps.
Designation of buffer tanks.

Features of heat accumulators of the Röda RBHP 60-200 series. Buffer tanks are designed for accumulation and storage of thermal energy in the form of a heated or cooled coolant of heating and cooling systems. Due to the specifics of the operating modes of heating systems using a heat pump, they must meet certain requirements for the minimum flow rate and volume of the coolant. In addition, for air/water heat pumps, sufficient heat must be stored in order to defrost the evaporator.

Buffer tanks are a steel tank made of stainless steel with a thickness of 3 mm. The tank has a cylindrical shape with a spherical top and bottom steel caps. This design allows buffer tanks to work under pressure without deformation and destruction. On top of the buffer tank there is a branch pipe for connecting the safety group - an automatic air vent valve, a pressure gauge and a safety valve (the safety group is not included in the delivery). Branch pipes for connecting heat generators and heat consumers are located on the sides of the tank. At the bottom of the buffer tank there is a branch pipe for emptying the buffer tank. All fittings are internally threaded.
From the outside, the buffer tank is covered with a layer of foamed solid polyurethane 50 mm thick, which acts as an effective thermal insulation and significantly reduces heat loss from the buffer tank in the room where it is installed. The body is made of sheet steel, which performs a decorative and protective function.
Specifications for Röda RBHP:

Recommendations for the selection of buffer tanks. The selection of buffer tanks depends on the characteristics of the heating system, the power of the heat pump and the required minimum amount of heat carrier to be stored.
Benefits of using a heat pump
1) Reduces the number of compressor starts
2) Saves the maximum amount of energy from each heat generation
3) Provides the heat pump with energy for defrosting
4) Additional automated security control is provided
5) The temperature in the system is kept at an optimal level
Calculation: For every kW of heat pump output, 10 liters of water must be taken into account when calculating the buffer capacity.
Example: If you have, for example, a heat pump with a capacity of 16 kW, you must install a buffer tank of at least 160 liters for your heating system.
